This elementary school serves students on the west side of the town. The school was named for General Winfield Scott, for whom the town of Fort Scott is also named. Known among the soldiers as "Old Fuss and Feathers," Scott was the strategist behind the famous Anaconda Plan used by the North during the Civil War.
