Fort Scott Country Club is a facility that contains a golf course, tennis courts, an elegant club house and a swimming pool. The golf course is located next to a charming residential area and is situated in a convenient location for local golf enthusiasts.
In 2009 the Country Club was facing bankruptcy and tried to sell the course. The City of Fort Scott made a controversial offer to buy it for $400,000. Before the deal with the city could go through another buyer stepped in and in the summer of 2009 the golf course and club house was sold to Pat Carney who planned to run it as a public course. In January 2010, Pat listed the golf course as for sale on Craig's List for $925,000.
